The Vision of The House

The H.E.A.R.T. of Our Church - Our Five Purposes:

H - Honor God with true love, adoration, and worship - Experience His presence

E - Embrace others in order to care for their felt needs with a servant’s heart and hands

A - Attract others with true friendship evangelism

R - Regiment (Help people find their place in the Church and get involved)

T - Train (equip them for and effective life in Christ and to fulfill their God given destiny – discipleship / ministry)

1. We must be a Church of LOVE
1 Corinthians 13:13 – “Love is the greatest of the Christian Virtues”

Love is declared to be the chief test of Christian discipleship.
“13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. “

John 13:34–35 “34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”

1 John 3:14 “14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren."

The Christian must Love God supremely and His neighbor as himself says Matthew 22:37-39.
"37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

2. We must be a Church that is Committed and Consistent.
Commitment: Pledge, promise or duly regarded as a solemn responsibility. Be committed for the Cause of Christ.

Hebrews 10:25- "25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

We urge you to attend a morning service, night service, prayer meeting and other ministry meetings.

You should avail yourself to the teaching ministries of the church such as Sunday School, Membership development classes, Leadership Institute, other institutes and training’s.

3. We must be a Church who Evangelizes to bring growth to the body of Christ
to bring growth to the body of Christ and to this church. The mission of the church is to evangelize the world.

Matthew 28:19-20- "19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."

As believers, we are commissioned by Jesus to be are responsible for the souls of those who do not know Him as Savior.

We must witness that others may be saved – Acts 1:8 "8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

4. We must be a church who realizes that we are Family.
Romans 12:5 "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

Ephesians 4:16 "16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

5. We must be a church who has a Spirit of Excellence.
Excellence: Superior quality; outstanding ability or worth Daniel 6:3 – “3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him”

Daniel 5:12 – “12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel…”

Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do well”

6. We must be a Tithing and Giving Church.
Tithing is God’s way to do two things:
a. To operate the church
b. To open up windows of Heaven

When we tithe we make it possible for God to operate the church and to pour out blessing from heaven to us that we are not able to receive – Malachi 3:10-11. “10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.”

The tithe is 10% of your income.
Offerings: Malachi 3:8 “8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.”
a. We give because we love.
b. We give because we are obedient.
c. We give because there is a need.
d. We give because we shall receive.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 - "6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

7. We must be an Obedient Church.
We must obey those that have authority over us.

Hebrews 13:17
“17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

Jesus was obedient
Luke 2:51- “51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them.”

Philippians 2:8- “8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
We should obey in all things, fearing God.

Colossians 3:22- “22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:”

8. We must be a Church who lives Christian Character.
Character: personal qualities by which others judge or see you, Moral excellence

Your personality is what you show people but your character is who you really are. We must live the life we talk about at Church, and away from church. “Let your light so shine that men will see your good works…”

Walk circumspectly in the word (live purposefully, accurately and worthily, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people)

Ephesians 5:15-17- “15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."

9. We must be a Spirit Filled Church.
A Spirit-Filled Church is a church that is led, guided and directed by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Administrator of the Church (He is in control).

1 Corinthians 12:4-7- "4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."

A Spirit-Filled Church will be a church full of power.

Acts 1:8
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you:”

10. We must be a Church that worships and praises God.
We must give God true worship. WORSHIP — reverent devotion and allegiance pledged to God; the rituals or ceremonies by which this reverence is expressed.

John 4:23- “24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

We must praise God.

Psalms 67:3,5-6- "3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us."

Our praise toward God is the means by which we express our joy to the Lord. We are to praise God both for who He is and for what He does (Ps. 150:2). “2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”

Praising God for who He is is called adoration; praising Him for what He does is known as thanksgiving. Praise of God may be in song or prayer, individually or collectively, spontaneous or prearranged, originating from the emotions or from the will.

11. We must be a Preaching and Teaching Church
Preaching is Proclaiming….

a. Preach the Word – 2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season;”

b. Preach unto them Jesus – Acts 17:18“…because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.”

c. Preach the Word of God – Acts 13:15- Teaching is Explaining "Go ye therefore and teach – Matt 28:20

a. Teaching them to observe all things.
“20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

b. Jesus taught them: John 7:14
“14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.”

12. We must be a Forgiving Church
God wants us to forgive each other as He has forgiven us.

Matthews 6:12,-15
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Mark 11:25
“25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

13. We must be a Praying and Fasting Church.
Through prayer and fasting you will be able to flow in the anointing of God.

Ephesians 6:18
“18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

14. We must be a Church of Faith.
Faith is confidence, assurance and reliance on God, trusting God for who He is.

He is all we need Him to be.

We must have faith- Hebrews 11:6
“6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

We must walk by faith – 2 Corinthians 5:7 “7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”

15. We must be a Timely Church.
God expects His church to be orderly, disciplined, organized, strategic in planning, timely and seasonal.

1 Corinthians 14:40- “40 Let all things be done decently and in order.”

16. We must be a Church that takes authority over the Spirit of Distraction
Distract: To cause to turn away ones focus of attention:

Distract: Agitate

1 Cor 7:35
“35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.”

When the Holy Spirit is ministering through the Minister, Teacher, Choir, Soloist, etc, ones focus should be on the ministering of the Holy Spirit and not be distracted by crying babies, a disorderly witness, loud outburst, and reading of bible or other material.
